Individual eyelash extensions are meant to enhance your natural look without the use of mascara and should be worn accordingly. It is not recommended to wear these lashes fuller than your own natural lash volume. Depending on the strength of each person's natural lashes, the length and overall fullness that can be applied will vary.

Eyelash extensions typically last between 4 to 6 weeks, depending on factors such as your natural lash growth cycle, maintenance routine, and lifestyle habits. Regular fills are recommended very 3 to 4 weeks to maintain the fullness and longevity of your extensions. Each person is different, having several different day to day factors that may determine the period of time between fill ins.  

To prepare for your eyelash appointment, it's recommended to arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes and avoid using oil-based products around the eye area beforehand. Also, if you wear contact lenses, it's advisable to remove them prior to the appointment.

When properly applied by a trained professional, eyelash extensions should not damage your natural lashes. However, improper application, excessive weight, or poor maintenance can potentially cause damage. It's essential to follow aftercare instructions and choose a reputable lash professional to minimize the risk of damage and ensure the health of your natural lashes.

• It's important to avoid getting eyelash extensions wet for the first 4 to 6  hours.
• Avoid saunas, hot yoga, and pools for the first 24 hours. The adhesive needs time to cure (bond) for proper retention. 
• Refrain from rubbing, pulling, or picking at the eyelash extensions.
• Use lash cleansers daily to keep them clean from build-up, infection, and to maximize retention. Visit the shop for after care products that will aid you with the maintenance of your extensions.
• Use oil-free makeup remover to prevent breakdown of the adhesive.
• If eyelashes twist or tangle, gently separate them by using a clean lash wand.
• Brush daily with a clean lash wand. 
• Do not use Oil-based or waterproof mascara to avoid a mess of your extensions or loss.  
• If you must wear mascara or eyeliner, make sure it is oil free and safe to use with your extensions.
• Blot eyelash extensions with a towel after showering, avoiding rubbing, to preserve the longevity of extensions.
• Be cautious using sunscreen and facial creams around the eye area, as certain products can breakdown the adhesive bond to the natural lash.
• Recommended maintenance fills are every 2 to 4 weeks to keep your lashes looking full and beautiful.
• Do not use eyelash curlers to prevent damage to the extensions.
•  Retention outcomes can vary due to a variety of factors. Including but not limited to, lash shedding cycle patterns, environmental humidity, presence of product or oils on natural lashes, artist expertise, and compatibility of adhesives.

Some of your lashes may be falling out due to the natural growth cycle, which includes a shedding phase that typically occurs every 60 to 90 days. It is normal to lose a few lashes every day as part of this cycle. That's why it's recommended every 3 to 4 weeks for fills.

The application process begins with the preparation of the eye area. Your lash technician will clean your natural lashes and place an eye pad on top of your bottom lashes to ensure they are not in the way of the top lashes. Then, each natural lash is carefully isolated and extensions are meticulously applied using a specialized adhesive.

It is generally not recommended to wear mascara with your eyelash extensions, as it can cause clumping and contain ingredients that may weaken the bond and shorten the lifespan of the extensions. However, if you feel the need to wear mascara, you can apply it to your bottom lashes, ONLY using  mascaras that are free from oil-base or waterproof ingredients.

There are two methods of removing eyelash extensions. The first method involves having them professionally removed by  a trained lash technician using a special adhesive remover. This process dissolves the adhesive bond, allowing the extensions to slide off safely without causing damage to your natural lashes. The second method is the natural shedding process, where extensions will gradually fall out over time as the natural lashes complete their growing cycle. However, this method can take several weeks and may result in uneven lash appearance if not all extensions shed simultaneously.

Yes, there are several contraindications to consider before getting eyelash extensions. These include active eye infections, such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), recent eye surgeries, allergies to adhesive or lash extension products, certain skin conditions affecting the eyelid area. Additionally, individuals undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy may need to avoid eyelash extensions, and pregnant women may experience heightened sensitivity and allergic reactions. It's essential to discuss any medical conditions or concerns with your lash technician before the appointment to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

These may include oil-free lash cleanser to gently remove makeup or debris without compromising the adhesive bond, lash-safe mascaras for added volume or definition (if desired), and lash serums or conditioners to promote lash health and strength. It's essential to  choose products that are compatible with eyelash extensions and avoid oil-based or waterproof formulas that can weaken the adhesive bond and shorten the lifespan of the extensions.
